I love rebates and setdowns in the edges of our work because it:
- is the ultimate protection against any mistake
- stops water getting onto the inside floor
- REPEAT …. Best water check EVER!!!!
Couple of issues:
- plan height of rebate carefully on flat sites where external RLs are close to FFL
- detail entries especially where AS 1428.1 applies i.e. will base of wall be ‘buried’ around doorways?
- vibrate all edges carefully including the actual form board to achieve good looking faces without honeycombing
- keep it visible where possible to limit undetected termite entry
- use on basement walls too – remember ….. Best water check EVER!!!
