Sometimes hobs are necessary – but they are trip hazards and increase building costs.
- avoid hobs if possible by working with your Designer / Certifier
- plan wall flashing to threshold subsill joint really carefully – set an example up on the first balcony
- pour integral with slab where possible
- I like a small slope to exterior – difficult to do but possible
- carefully plan how the reveals drain INTO the subsill
Let’s not hobble our work with leaking hobs that trip occupants!
