Bath installation is one of the most complex activities for tradesmen. It involves high level technical skills including:
- waterproofing under the bath even if AS 3740 does not require it
- correct support of ALL sides of the bath – imagine it is full of water
- waterstop angles under the bath rim to stop water leaking under the bath
- correct bedding of the weighed down bath will save you an embarrassing $8,000+ mistake
- 1:80 slope on ledges prior to waterproofing – yes, this is required even if difficult to do
- mitre cutting of external corner tiles is not recommended – they are easily damaged / can injure occupants
