Fabric / Roofing / Gutters / Box (Gutters)

1 min read 18 October 2024

Box gutters usually drain into rain heads – also called rainwater heads. Sometimes the rain head is designed with the front edge lower than the box gutter. The tricks to note with this ‘weir’ design are:

  • keep overflow edge of rain head at least 25mm lower than gutter
  • turn the gutter edge neatly down over the back of rain head
  • seal this edge (including both sides) and rivet to squeeze / compress the sealant
  • rivet the nozzle from BELOW – often smart tradesmen do this on the ground

Enjoy the waterfall in heavy rain! And always know your gutter will never flood your Client’s interiors.
