Structure / Concrete / Curing

1 min read 20 September 2024

Concrete is a wonder product but does not achieve lifelong health without our skill. Most of this is in the ingredients, cover and finishes. But if you really want long term quality, curing is the last step in doing it right.

Couple of basics:

  • SAME DAY spray application is easiest
  • choose a product that primers, adhesives and paints will stick to
  • be thorough with your application
  • confirm the Contractor’s ‘cure’ for any vertical faces
  • your Engineer ALWAYS requires curing – and if they don’t, change them.

Most materials are very forgiving when we install them correctly. So, the ‘cure’ is much better than the ‘Jerry built’ work (haha) that we are seeing all too often in the media.
