I’m not an expert on LP Gas, and even many Plumbers can’t tell you the Rules. Most of this is common sense, but when you turn your back a problem can quickly ‘blow up’.
Here are the basics:
- there are increased clearance Rules for permanent tanks
- remember the ‘Open on 3 sides’ Rule for tanks under buildings or on verandahs
- protect tanks from physical damage especially really robust bollards close to unloading docks
- recesses / enclosures need ventilation
- a 10kg bottle is permitted inside Class 1 buildings – but prohibited for a heater use.
- always think about leakage & vapour risk
Everyone needs to know this stuff …… and share it with your Team before the “gas hits the fan”!
