This Tool is pretty adoorable. Lots of practical tips:
- to achieve consistent set out of hardware – yep, older tradesmen always had rules for hinge set out / spacing
- integrates other rules – like luminous contrast
A few other tips come to mind:
- please specify / use the same finish on all hardware…… brushed SS handles look silly against anodised aluminium snobs or closers
- I NEVER use timber doors externally if they are weather exposed
- craftspeople ALWAYS arris the 12 door edges and slightly angle (back off) striker face of door to improve closing.
Sadly, most of this is never taught in the NCC or reference docs.
