FTR, mismanagement of movement causes the MAJORITY of cosmetic defects in construction.

Please review & revisit this Tool™ so placing joints becomes second nature:

    • between different materials
    • between new & old work
    • to absorb the predictable movement in a material
    • where wall thickness or height changes
    • 470mm – 4.5m range from any corner
    • 4.5m – 6m max spacing depending upon location
    • a chase for services should never exceed 25% of wall thickness.

Here are some tips from other Tradespeople:

    • try to locate joints above & below reveals or behind downpipes
    • allow an 15mm wide joint between long panels of new clay masonry – it will compress
    • use colour matched / UV sealant (paintable where paint specified)
