Access / SDA Design Standards / Kitchen & Laundry (SDA)

1 min read 08 November 2024

I have always made sure my buildings ‘cared’ about their occupants. And I have realised that it cost no more for Designers and Contractors to skilfully craft buildings that have:

  • floors without changes in levels / trips
  • larger doors
  • appliances at easy to use heights
  • switches and power points / contrasting colours / non-slip surfaces that make sense
  • design tricks that respect our loved ones who can’t bend or reach anymore
  • or simply using dimensions so people can be together easily.

SDA Design Standard Tools are for your Gran & Grandpa. And when a loved one is in a chair and wants to use the sink…… or does not want to say ‘excuse me’. Shout out to Cameron & his Team and Mavie from Tools™ for making access accessible!

AJ & I are really proud to create these ‘how-tos’ for people you love.
