Really big factories & warehouses (usually Class 7 & 8) create a high risk to adjacent buildings. That is why there are RULES for their Compartmentation & Separation.
All FRL, FireStopping, waterproofing Rules remain unchanged. However, access AROUND & BETWEEN buildings has Rules:
- areas are greater than 18,000m2 or volumes greater than 108,000m3
- above areas / volumes are measured from face of finishes
- buildings closer than 6m apart are calculated as one building
- street road must be minimum 6m wide
- access around entire building for fire fighting vehicles is usually required.
