Safe access to services especially on roofs is a real good investment!
- place your plant in the best location – to minimise cable or pipe runs AND where it is easy to get too
- support the walkway frame PROPERLY – not the middle of a pan and NEVER midspan between purlins
- make sure the roof can drain properly under the walkway
- integrate ladder access so it is easy to step onto and off the walkway
- use aluminium for EVERY part – it will never rust and devalue your work
- I recommend handrails are a minimum 1m high
- 40mm dia tube is much easier to grab
- avoid checker plate – it stays wet and stops you seeing the roof surface below.
