Access / Maintenance Access / Ramps & Walkways

1 min read 11 October 2024

Safe access to services especially on roofs is a real good investment!

    • place your plant in the best location – to minimise cable or pipe runs AND where it is easy to get too
    • support the walkway frame PROPERLY – not the middle of a pan and NEVER midspan between purlins
    • make sure the roof can drain properly under the walkway
    • integrate ladder access so it is easy to step onto and off the walkway
    • use aluminium for EVERY part – it will never rust and devalue your work
    • I recommend handrails are a minimum 1m high
    • 40mm dia tube is much easier to grab
    • avoid checker plate – it stays wet and stops you seeing the roof surface below.

Let’s meet up and look at the view!
