I ‘adoor’ this Tool™. It illustrates the discipline many Craftspeople have taught me. They ALWAYS:
- arrise all 12 door edges
- had equal margins ‘framing’ each door
- backed off the hinge & latch faces
- accurately cut down door for floor finish.
And please don’t forget the little, but important details:
- fix jambs securely above (under) the hinge & never more than 600mm apart
- one in rebate / one on jamb face
- screws should extend into structure frame
- 10g minimum – 25mm to jamb, 32mm into solid core doors
- paint (prime) them bottom & top edges …… really carefully for wet area & external doors.
Every door should be a ‘Masterpiece’. So your next job will be a ‘Gallery’ …. haha.
